Privacy and Cookie Policy

This notice applies to all Experience Scotland’s Wild Ltd clients booking one of our products.  
This policy forms part of our compliance in respect of the General Data Protection Regulations 2018.

We believe that the responsible use of personal information collected on our websites, by phone, letter, email or in person, is critical to our business objectives and reputation. As part of our ongoing commitment to privacy, we have reviewed and revised our Privacy in line with the General Data Protection Regulations 2018. The extent and type of information we receive from you on our websites, live chat, emails and other channels depends on the information you provide to us.

Experience Scotland’s Wild Ltd will only collect information relevant to the processing of your booking and we will store all data that we obtain from you in a secure manner.  We only share and use data where you have agreed for us to do so.

Our Privacy and Cookie Policy together with our Terms and Conditions sets out what information you provide to us and how we may process that.

  • Information that you provide by filling in forms on our website www.scotlandswild.com. This includes information you provide when signing up to mailing list.

    Information that you provide at the time of booking, or subsequently, that may include some or all of the following information relating to you or your group: names, addresses, contact details, credit/debit card details, payment details, information relating to medical conditions and dietary requirements, emergency contact details, height, weight and other details to help with the organisation of your tour.

    Information we gather from you pre or post booking via email, phone, live chat or other means to help with the orgonisation of your tour.

    Details of transactions you carry out through our site and of the fulfillment of your orders.

    Details of your visits to our site including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data, whether this is required for our own billing purposes or otherwise and the resources that you access.

  • We only use your personally contact information to respond to your requests, process your booking and to provide you with information about Experience Scotland’s Wild services. We may also use it to provide you with marketing material about Experience Scotland’s Wild, services and information relating to Scotland, unless you opt out of receiving this information as provided below. We also use personal information for the purposes of providing our services to clients, maintaining client relationships (such as informing our clients and prospective clients of properties and services that may be of interest to them) and for our other related business activities.

    Our website has links to some of our partners, service providers, and affiliates. If you follow a link to any of these websites please note that they will have their own Privacy Policy and we do not accept any liability or responsibility for these other sites.

  • The personal information you provide to us will be retained only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which the information was collected or as required by law. We do not share personal information with third parties except as necessary to carry out our business or your request or as required by law or other legal processes, and we never sell your personal information. Furthermore, personal data collected by

    Experience Scotland’s Wild may transfer some of your information to our partner providers and suppliers, such as accommodation and activities, to help with the smooths running of your tour. This information would be limited to names, date of birth, phone numbers, weight, height, and other required information though no including any contact details.

    Experience Scotland’s Wild may contact you via email to invite you to review any trip you might take with us in order to collect your feedback and improve our services.

    We also share your information with our third party email provider to gain statistics on activities such as but not limited to email open rate.

  • We may collect information about your computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and to report aggregate information to our advertisers. This is statistical data about our users' browsing actions and patterns only. For the same reason, we may obtain information about your general internet usage by using a cookie file which is stored on the hard drive of your computer. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer's hard drive. They help us to improve our site and to deliver a better and more personalised service. They enable us:

    To store information about your preferences, and so allow us to customise our site according to your individual interests.

    To speed up your searches.

    To recognise you when you return to our site.

    To estimate our audience size and usage pattern.

    This information can identify customer behaviour such as how long each page is visited and where a customer came from and went to. For this reason we may use cookies to obtain statistical data.

    You may refuse to accept cookies by activating the setting on your browser which allows you to refuse the setting of cookies. However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of our site. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our system will issue cookies when you log on to our site.

  • At the time of booking you have the option to subscribe, or not, to our newsletter. There is an option to opt out of this subscription at the bottom of every newsletter. To receive our newsletter we only require your name and email address. This data will be retained on a secure database. If you opt out of the subscription it will be deleted.

  • If you provide any information via a third party/agency site such as travel agents or TripAdvisor, please note they have their own Privacy Policy, and Payment Service Provider. We do not accept any liability or responsibility for these sites.

  • We occasionally run competitions via our Social Media Channels, email subscribers.
    When you enter a competition we may collect information such as name, address, email address, phone number, social media name/handle or other information depending on the type of competition we choose to run.
    Please note: We will never ask you for Credit/Debit Card details in relation to a competition.

  • When you visit our website, your browser checks if the site’s ‘digital’ or ‘public key’ certificate is legitimate. If it’s not, your browser warns you. An encrypted website and web browsers work together to encrypt information you exchange with the site. The key used for the encryption is contained in the site’s security certificate. This protects your login information, credit card numbers, addresses, and other secure data.

    Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Subject to our compliance with the requirements of the Act, although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your personal data, we will adopt appropriate procedures and security features to prevent unauthorized access.

  • All payments are processed through Stripe, our Payment Service Provider, who fully comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

  • When you use social media, WhatsApp to connect with us you are covered by their Privacy Policy and we do not accept any liability or responsibility for these other sites/apps.

  • You have certain rights over your personal data. These rights include:

    Access to your personal data

    You have a right of access to your personal data held by us as a data controller. This right may be exercised by emailing us at info@scotlandswild.com. We will aim to respond to any requests for information promptly, and in any event within 30 days.

    Changes and Updates

    To update, correct or rectify any personal data held to us, you may email us at info@scotlandswild.com with details of the required changes and we will make the necessary amendments.

    Withdrawal of consent

    You are entitled to request us to delete your personal data and withdraw your consent to us processing any personal data we hold about you.     Right of Data Portability

    You have the right to receive any personal data concerning you, which you have provided to us, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and have the right to transmit that data to another controller without hindrance from us. In exercising this right, you shall have the right to have the personal data transmitted directly us to another data controller where technically feasible.
