Your day begins with a visit to Stirling Castle, one of Scotland’s most important historical sites. Home to legendary figures such as Mary, Queen of Scots, and William Wallace, the castle is steeped in centuries of Scottish history.Explore the castle’s interesting exhibits, including the Royal Palace, Great Hall, and its magnificent views over the surrounding countryside. Please note that entrance to Stirling Castle is not included in the tour price, and guests will need to purchase tickets separately to access the castle.

You’ll arrive at the beginning of your short hike, Craigie Fort, which offers panoramic views of the loch and its islands.
Stop 3: Glengoyne Distillery
After soaking in the natural beauty of Balmaha, continue to Glengoyne Distillery, a charming whisky distillery nestled in the stunning Trossachs region.Take a guided tour of the distillery, where you’ll learn about the traditional whisky-making process that has been perfected for over 200 years. The tour concludes with a tasting session, allowing you to sample some of Glengoyne’s finest single malts, distilled with care and skill. Is the Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond & Highland Whisky Distillery Day Tour for me?
Before booking on to our tour, please remember that this is an Active Sightseeing tour and might not be for everyone. We will be going for a hike of approx. 1 hour and will possibly be hiking up hill for roughly half that time. Before booking on, please ask yourself, Can I and everyone in my group comfortably walk for up to 1 hour?
What should I bring on my Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond & Distiller Day Tour?
As the weather can be unpredictable at time in Scotland, for your day tour we recommend you bring light waterproof clothing and sturdy hiking boots or shoes. You may also want to bring midge repellent as during certain times of year (primarily April - September) the midges may irritate you. If you’re lucky enough to get a nice sunny day, then some sun cream would be great. If it’s during the colder months, then some warm clothing, gloves and a hat may also be useful.

It will take you approximately 5 minutes to walk from the parking facility to the Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond & Highland Whisky Distillery Day Tour start location
Why are the Whisky Distillery and Stirling Castle entry not included in the tour price?
We don’t include price of entry for the Whisky Distillery or Stirling Castle as it allows you the flexibility to travel as you enjoy. At some distilleries there’s the option of which tasting tour to enjoy and the quantity of whisky provided depending on what you’re comfortable paying. We’ve found that clients enjoy different quantities of whisky and different tour options.
How long will I be out the vehicle?
On your Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond & Highland Whisky Distillery Day Tour, we get you out of the vehicle as much as we can to enjoy some hiking on the banks of Loch Lomond, a tour of a Scotch whisky Distillery, a visit to Stirling Castle, time to explore the landscape, have lunch and take photos of the beautiful Highlands of Scotland
Do you have any age restrictions on the Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond & Highland Whisky Distillery Day Tour?
For our Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond & Whisky Distillery Day Tour, we have a minimum age limit of 18 years old. If you are travelling with anyone under 18 years old who you’d like to join you for this tour, we recommend getting in touch info@scotlandswild.com and asking about a fully private tour for you and your group.

What’s your Day Tour Cancellation Policy?
Any cancellation for our Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond & Highland Whisky Distillery Day Tour, 8 or more days before the tour start day, you will be issued a full refund. Cancelling between 4 and 7 days before the tour start date you will be issued a 50% refund and cancelling within 3 days of the tour, full payment is taken.

Do I have Travel Insurance Provided on my Day Tour?
We don’t provide travel insurance on our Scotland Tours, though we highly recommend taking out appropriate travel insurance for any vacation to Scotland
